-In Memory-

14/12/12

For the children of Sandy Hooks Elementary School at Newton, Connecticut. Who were killed on the 14th of December. May they always be remembered and cherished.

"We will always remember you."

---

Here is the final image, I'm so sorry my tribute was so late...

May they be at peace.

The emotion is definitely evident, and you know it would be hell for Jack especially to hear something like this. If it was hell for the country, then someone who was really invested in the kids would take it twice as hard.

That's why, and it may sound cold, my prayers aren't for the kids--their pain is over and they are in a vastly better place. My prayers are for their parents and their teachers, the ones who really have to live on afterwards, who had to go through Christmas without that child, likely still had their presents stacked away in closets and attics and under beds, waiting to be wrapped and put under the tree.

Those presents won't be opened, and it'll just be a reminder.

That isn't cold at all, I agree, mine are for the parents too. I thought of the time and effort they would've put towards their childs' Christmas too. It shattered me to understand the magnitude of their pain.

This tribute is for the children.

My prayers however go to the parents/families.

Thank you for your comment, it was very insightful and thoughtful. :)

Thanks.

It's pictures and art like this that bring out depth in darn-near everyone.

But this pic has inspired me to do something similar.

But think of their families, imagine their pain. Those poor children are now at peace- but their families are not.

This world is a place of cruelty, hatred and violence. The sad thing is- we can make a difference.

But no one does.

That was really wonderful of you dedicating this piece to those children. Beautiful piece as well.
